SURAVI GHOSH won 2023 ANSO Scholarship and about to pursue her PhD in ICCES

SURAVI GHOSH from India won 2023 ANSO Scholarship and about to pursue her PhD in ICCES under Prof. Zhaohui LIN’s supervision.  Suravi was born in a small village of west Bengal in India as the 1st child in her family. She completed her undergraduate in Geography with Hons at Katwa college, West Bengal with 1st rank in the department. Also, she have appearing her Bachelors of Education (B.Ed) in Geography with CGPA 8.10 at Burdwan University, West Bengal (2019). These 5 years of education caught her interest to continue her study in the field of Geographical sciences. Suravi also received several scholarships from local authority and west Bengal government for outstanding score.
 
Suravi completed her master degree in photogrammetry and remote sensing from Wuhan University with Chinse Government Scholarship (CSC). In addition, she completed an internship at Institute of African Studies, School of Geography and Ocean Sciences, Nanjing University. She has relevant experience in climate change, atmospheric science, and remote sensing which she studied in her bachelor and Master program. By working on all the above-mentioned projects and tasks, she ended up having a strong knowledge on various satellite image analysis and processing software such as R, Python, MATLAB, Arc GIS, ENVI, ERADAS, and QGIS. Strong handling on these software’s and programing languages, she could conveniently and efficiently work on Grads, Netcdf, hdf data handling, based technological application. 
 
Suravi said “I overcame professional and personal difficulties during my projects which taught me so much skills to manage the day-to-day problems and led me to become intellectually flexible, innovative, and more efficient person altogether. I believe that my educational values which I possess and working with a prestigious institute like IAP will add more to my experience and expose me more to the areas where climate change are relevant and in addition, put into practice what I have learnt so far. This would enable me to work towards my future career in research within academia or industry and vastly improve job prospects. I have a cheerful and open- minded disposition and look forward to share and explore new ideas. My hobbies are story book reading, playing cards, music, and games.”
