2022，during devastating Pakistan flood, ICCES worked with China-Pakistan Joint Research Center on Earth Sciences (CPJRC), ICCES completed 3 issues of Investigation Briefing for Emergency Investigation and Assessment of the Flood. There were “Analysis of the Causal factors of 2022 Floods in Pakistan: Extremely Strong South Asia Summer Monsoon” “Analysis of the Pakistan Precipitation Development in September” “Complexity of Summer Flood in Pakistan 2022-ENSO Cycle does not explain it!”.
China-Pakistan Joint Research Center on Earth Sciences (CPJRC) is a scientific research institution jointly led by CAS and Higher Education Commission Pakistan. CPJCR focuses on the key science and technology challenges encountered in the construction of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor. Prof. Zhaohui LIN from ICCES lead one research team in CPJRC and carries out major research such as climate change and environmental effects, natural disasters, and risk management in Pakistan.
