International Workshop on Climate Smart Agriculture for Pakistan (30 Nov - 02 Dec 2022)

 A 3 - day International Workshop on “Climate Smart Agriculture for Pakistan” has been successfully completed on 02 Dec 2022, the workshop was jointly organized by Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs (MARA), China, The Islamia University of Bahawalpur (IUB), Pakistan and ICCES. The workshop attracted more than 60 participants from different organizations, universities, and private sectors across Pakistan. Prof. Zhaohui LIN gave a lecture in “Earth-lab based prediction of climate variation and change for sustainable agriculture”.
In this workshop, speakers presented lectures of scientific findings and practical case studies on topics such as climate change prediction and sustainable agriculture, development prospect and prospect of climate-smart agriculture, low-carbon rice production, grassland ecosystem management, ecological farms, and construction of low and zero carbon towns. Topics related to SDG-1 no poverty, SDG-2 zero hunger, SDG-3 good health and well-being, SDG-11 sustainable cities, SDG-13 climate change. The participants shared theoretical research and experimental innovation results, exchanged practical experience, and discussed important areas of development and cooperation intention. Students actively asked questions and discussed with experts. 
This interactive workshop will pave the way to more collaborative initiatives, projects, joint-ventures between China and Pakistan in sustainable agriculture and food security fields.
